Newest Mindgasms Book Review on an essay by the Mormon apostle and mathematician, Orson Pratt, called “The Absurdities of Immaterialism.” He criticizes other Christians for believing that God is an immaterial, or non-physical/metaphysical being. To him, if you are a Christian who does not believe that God is material or physical, you are functionally the same as an atheist because neither believes in a materially or physically existing God. I’m not generally a fan of Mormonism, and I’m not a materialist either. However, I think that his perspective is very interesting and theologically/philosophically sophisticated.
