Newest Mindgasms Quickie with me reading a book by the apparently racist children’s author named Dr. Seuss, called Green Eggs and Ham. This is simply about a kid named Sam trying to convince someone to eat green eggs and ham in various places. Several books by Dr. Seuss were recently discontinued in print by his family’s estate. However, you can still buy them in some places online. This has been admired by uber-left social justice warriors, and has been seen by both them and reactionary uber-right anti-social justice warriors as Dr. Seuss becoming the latest victim of cancel culture in the culture war. Conservative pundits have of course expressed a lot of outrage about this. The fact that these particular books have been banned in super dumb, but so is the extreme reaction to it. I’m reading Green Eggs and Ham as a stunt simply because it’s completely ridiculous for any book by Dr. Seuss to be considered by anyone to be controversial or somehow harmful, in any way.

Check out my last Mindgasms Quickie about Nietzsche’s famous book called The Antichrist, which is all about how awful he thought Christianity was. I personally used to agree more with his argument. However, I am no longer a militant atheist, which is how he sounds. I think that as Jonathan Haidt showed in his books called The Happiness Hypothesis, and The Righteous Mind, people are not rational. We just rationalize our intuitions. Also, there are psychologically and morally true religious claims that can be accepted within a secular context, without believing in anything supernatural. This is why religions have lasted so long throughout human history. They have been adapted by evolution through group selection. Anyway, Nietzsche makes many interesting claims in the book, some of which I agree with, and others with which I disagree. He wrote about Jesus, Pontius Pilate, truth, love, science, sin, control, culture, God, faith, lies, transcendentalism, divine providence, chance, law, Nihilism, the Rennaisance, rationalism, Buddhism, Protestantism and Germans:
