Newest Mindgasms Book Club Chat with Mask AKA Tristram Johnson and the Woke Centrist AKA Dusty Cubes AKA Dustin Cubit on Best Served Cold, the first standalone novel in the grim/dark fantasy “First Law” universe, by Joe Abercrombie AKA Lord GrimDark. The books in this series are even better than Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin. Best Served Cold takes place after the original trilogy, years after theose events, with new characers, along with some who were in the first novels. It’s about the mercenary named Monza Murcatto who gets betrayed, sees her brother killed, and is left for dead by the man she was working for, Grand Duke Orso of Styria. After getting rescued and healed, she assembles a crew of murderers, thieves and poisoners to help her get blood-soaked revenge by killing everyone who was involved. There are many epic, gruesome battles, kinky sex scenes and totally unexpected plot twists along the way.
Mindgasms Podcast with Mask AKA Tristram Johnson and the Woke Centrist AKA Dusty Cubes AKA Dustin Cubit on the teaser trailer for the upcoming “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” series on Amazon Prime. We get into the infamous extreme right winger and white supremacist, Lauren Southern’s complaint that a black dwarf is in it, which no one else cares about because J.R.R. Tolien never said that all dwarfs are white. However, there are many more legitimate criticisms that have fantasy nerds skeptical that it will be a good adaptation. These include whether the characters match with the lore in The Simlarillion, added ones who didn’t exist before, the CG, and timeline. We also compare how it looks like The Rings of Power might turn out to the recent “Wheel of Time” adaptation of the epic series of fantasy books by Robert Jordan, also on Amazon Prime. It is the most popular TV show ever on that streaming service so far.
