Newest Mindgasms Book Club Chat with Mask AKA Tristram Johnson and the Woke Centrist AKA Dusty Cubes AKA Dustin Cubit on The Alloy of Law, book 1 of era 2 of Brandon Sanderson’s fantasy “Mistborn” series. This takes place 300 years after the events of the era 1 trilogy, and brings the magic system from that forward into the western/frontier age of history. The wealthy man named Wax gets involved with hunting train robbers who use Allomantic powers based on pushing and pulling metal to push yourself and any objects containing metal, along with his former parter, Wayne, and his fiance, Marasi. The three of them use Allomantic and Ferochemical powers, guns, disguises, infiltration and investigation, along with secret help from heroes who became Gods at the end of era 1, to stop the train robbers who kill and kidnap people. Gun fights, magic, dry humour, mistery, and integration of other characters from Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere universe, abound.

Mindgasms Book Club Chat with Mask AKA Tristram Johnson and the Woke Centrist AKA Dusty Cubes AKA Dustin Cubit on Best Served Cold, the first standalone novel in the grim/dark fantasy “First Law” universe, by Joe Abercrombie AKA Lord GrimDark. The books in this series are even better than Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin. Best Served Cold takes place after the original trilogy, years after theose events, with new characers, along with some who were in the first novels. It’s about the mercenary named Monza Murcatto who gets betrayed, sees her brother killed, and is left for dead by the man she was working for, Grand Duke Orso of Styria. After getting rescued and healed, she assembles a crew of murderers, thieves and poisoners to help her get blood-soaked revenge by killing everyone who was involved. There are many epic, gruesome battles, kinky sex scenes and totally unexpected plot twists along the way.
